I took this picture of my mother and my grandson last Christmas. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s type dementia 4 1/2 years ago. Although she hasn’t known who I am for some time, she never forgot how to embroider (that’s an embroidery hoop in her hands).

On Sunday, she suffered a serious stroke. As you can imagine, my family is dealing with many difficult issues at the moment. Please keep us in your prayers.

It doesn’t matter if they know us or not, part of us remains a child as long as our parents are with us. When they suffer – we suffer.
Your Mum will always be a part of you.
May you both find peace in this difficult time. I’ll keep you in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mother’s situation. I certainly can empathize with you as my sweet Mama was sick for 8 years before she was called home. Know that I am thinking of you during this difficult time. What a treasure the picture is that you shared in your blog. Thanks for taking time to do that.

The picture of your Mom is wonderful and thank you for sharing it with us, and for sharing so much of yourself with us all the time. Many prayers are going heavenward for her and her medical staff and other caregivers. I especially pray for peace for all of your family.

Here’s to wishing your mother a speedy recovery. And it’s nice to read that even though she doesn’t remember who you are, that you two can still share embroidery together. Recover soon!

Eefje I hope and pray your mother gets over her stroke, even though she doesn’t remember you, real, real, deep in her brain somewhere when she does it may only be five minutes, treasure each and every day you have her with you even though is hard to take care of someone with alzheimer’s and now with a stroke, I know you do all you can for her along with doctor’s and nurses too. It is a wonderful picture of her doing the embroidery and with your grandson is precious. I took care of my grandmother for 2 years before God called her home with him but she had it for 15 to 20 years. Allow her to do everything she can so she gets over the stroke which won’t be easy for you or her. Your mother and your family will be in my prayers. Love and Hugs to All

I hope things are going well with your mother’s stroke recovery. And this may seem trivial to say at this point, but I wanted to thank you for sharing so much great stitchery info with your readers. (You’ve been given a Nice Matters Award as a thank you!)

Take a few moments each day to relax and recover from the stress/anxiety of getting your mother through this hard time. Wishing you lots of good thoughts!

So sorry to hear your mother isn’t well. I will pray for her as well as you. It’s more hard for us to watch our parents fail then we know. It takes a strong women to cope.
Enjoy your mom every day, hug her and tell her you love her.

I have recently lost my mother and miss her very much. I believe we all live with our parents’ influences and carry on to our younger family.

    Prayers for you and Mom,

    Sincerely,
    Sherrill H.

I’m praying that God blesses you and your family and comforts you in this difficult time. May he give you the strength you need and show you the way.
I lost my mother a couple of years ago. She had a form of dementia for the last year of her life, but not alzheimer. I know it’s hard. God bless you.

If she is critical you should left her go. Do not bind her to this earth. She will always be with you, even after death.

I don’t know the extent of her issues. My personal opinion of seeing how my grandpa was on his death bed, is that he needed to be released. All of his family went to see him. We all said our good-byes and we all felt at peace.

Sorrow will grow if you do not handle the things that need to be handled. If you or anyone else needs to make peace, then do it. Release her from any bond you have on her. She will be free and in a better place.

Hi My heart goes out to you and your family my Dad died nearly 2 years ago he had pulmonary dementia and after waiting 2 years to get to see him in England he sadly died so i never got to see him.
it was not a good ending for him as he got quite violent and was put in a home miles away from his second wife. but it was the virus that he caught at the home that finally took his life.
I will say this remember the best of times and light a mental candle for their spirit and that will guide them home, when the time comes.
