Greetings!
How kind of you to visit my world of fiber art. Fembellish Journal chronicles my life in thread, fiber, yarn, ribbon, fabric, felt, roving, textiles, beads, buttons, dye, paint, and anything else I discover that brings beauty to the things I create.
I am blessed in that my professional life and my personal life often overlap since fiber art is such a large part of both. A little bit of myself will inevitably flow from each of my entries, so enough said about me.
Enjoy your visit and take away any inspiration you find here.
Blessings,
N. Rene West

I just found your journal and I am so amazed at your generosity in the sharing of your techniques. Your work is inspiring and lovely. Honestly, I’ve paid for classes that hardly compare to what you freely share with everyone. Thank you and I look forward to visiting often.

Hello, Rene!
I am impressed with the photography used on your blog. It is just as useful as the dialogue that accompanies the lesson of the day. As a fiber artist and a teacher, I am aware of the various styles of learning each student brings to class. You excel using two methods: visual and text. Your projects are achievable by almost all levels of learning, AND they are rewarding pieces of art to display. Thank you for sharing your special qualities.

Greetings Rene,
I have been perched in the balcony for 5 months now, anxiously awaiting every day your latest posting. I have wanted so many times to send you a note of thanks and admiration but have just not felt like my words are adequate. So today, I’m coming down from the balcony and joining the class, the party, the fun, the group, the life of a fiber artist…and saying thank you so very much for all you do and share with those of us who are new to fiber arts. I think I read that you live in the NC mountains, I too have mountain roots in Murphy NC and will probably retire and live there part time sometime this year. I have a Bernina QE440 and the needlefellting foot was one of my promotional gifts when I got my machine. You have opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. I later purchased the couching foot when I saw how versatile it is and how many wonderful things you were doing in the FJ. I do babble on….so for now, a sincere thanks and please keep up your passion and great lessons, you have lots of followers.
Gratefully, Linda Knight
